Best Tablet Under $200

Would've just made a post, but for some reason I can't. Just wondering what all your thoughts were on the best tablet under $200. Feel free to make suggestions other than what's in the poll.

I know this has been posted before, but I didn't see any in the last year.

Edit: I will mostly be using this for ebooks, streaming videos, and light gaming.

I had my ipad air 2 for like 5 years and my ipad 3 for i dont even know how long. They both still work fine for what I do with them

Ipad on sale. I have had all kinds of android tablets and sorry they just dont compete one performance and ecosystem and apps. Unless you need android for a specific purpose or want to customize. Ipad all the way.

IMO there's no single "best" tablet. It's all about what you're using it for.

You're right I should have included that in the post. Will likely be for ebooks, streaming, and light gaming.

I bought my mother a Samsung Tab yrs ago. She's not tech savvy but knows how to use Netflix and YouTube. Damn thing is still kicking perfectly fine. I got it almost 4yrs ago now. For needs it's just fine. If you're a demanding user, tablet isn't what you should seek.

I would recommend either a used iPad, or better yet a new one for around $300. It'll be a high quality product that should last for years to come, and be pleasant to use. Any budget(or even non-budget) android tablet is going to have super obvious compromises, an OS that hasn't been designed with tablets in mind for a while now, and overall poor quality/disposability.

The 10" Fire with the Google store side loaded is hard to beat and is not anywhere close to $200.

Of the options listed, Samsung. Best option in reality (as everyone else has said) a used iPad. Even if you want to buy new, BestBuy has been selling iPads on sale everyone once in a while for $250 which is a steal if you're just using the tablet for general browsing/videos/occasional game.

Because apple make them redundant by not allowing you to update them and therefore any apps can't either. They also nerf the speed to frustrate you into upgrading. Had enough of there tactics and moved to android.

I'm a mobile developer, and Apple supports devices for much longer than most of their competitors. iOS devices are supported for five years or longer, and they still tend to be functional even after they don't receive OS updates.

What was your basis for claiming that iPads are obsolete within two years? That kind of logic is what the fanboys use to justify buying new toys, but it has little basis in reality.
